Collections require a quick hard drive installation. To minimise space required, only the RadioROM application and Java Virtual Machine software are installed.

The process is semi-automated and only requires a few clicks using the Install Anywhere programme. One restart, click the desktop icon, and RadioROM opens playing music.

The music files, which are in mp3 format, are automatically accessed by the application from the CD-ROM disk - which needs to be in the drive at all times for playback.

Integrated within the application is a sophisticated database programme which manages the visual and audio content and several control parameters.

The fields of information within this database facilitate RadioROM's comprehensive functionality. The database cannot be accessed or edited by the user - it is sealed within the player programme.

This (Version 1.01) release of RadioROM is only PC compatible. A Mac OSX version is currently in development and scheduled for release mid 2003.
