Writing and developing Priceless in Uxbridge has been a tremendous learning experience for us. We love film and over the last 36-months we have found the creative process behind making a movie, fascinating, demanding, frustrating and exhilarating. The process of finding the funds to get it made are still a complete mystery but we work in the hope of finding a suitable point of entry.
We are open to offers
I think it is fair to say that we are not satisfied with the ending – the last 20-minutes of our screenplay – Episode 6 – either needs to be refined or completely redone – we are not sure which as yet. We also need to produce a full-length animatic. It was always our intention to avoid the negative, downbeat and depressing ending model of most contemporary British movies. We wanted a more Capra-esque expression of hope and progress. The type of ending usually reserved for animated features and true-life stories. We don't want to be cheesy – just UP! We are always open to offers of professional advice, representation, feedback, creative input and practical help.
Help us democratise art
We are also very happy to hear from artists who support our view that art has the power to re-engage the general public. It would be great to expand the art gallery within this site with appropriate pieces. Our objective has always been to showcase the work of unknown artists - within the context of expressing and highlighting through art - the many issues which afflict British society today.
Voice synthesis software development
The process of creating the soundtrack to Priceless in Uxbridge has many valuable insights into the process of using text-to-speech and synthesised voices in a semi-professional context. The task gave us the need to test many of the available applications. We would like to apply this knowledge to the development of a professional standard authoring application which would combine the several separate applications we have utilised into one single software solution. We have experience in this kind of work and would be very happy to hear from anyone interested in funding this development work with a view to making the product commercially available.
